In honor of Black August & Marcus Garvey’s Birthday, we acknowledge August 17, 1995, the day Mumia Abu-Jamal was to be executed by the state of Pennsylvania. However, the Power of the People prevented that from happening. The powerful film, Justice on Trial: The Case of Mumia Abu-Jamal, lays out the facts of the case and all the violations. There will be a legal update and a panel for questions & answers. Then, join us in court on Wednesday, Oct 19, 2022..
• Mumia is a victim of racism
• Mumia is a victim of racist Frank Rizzo
• Mumia is a victim of police corruption
Guest Speakers:
Pam Africa, Co-Founder of International Concerned Family & Friends of Mumia Abu-Jamal and known as the Minister of Confrontation
Jeffrey Deskovic, is the founder of the Deskovic Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the exoneration of the wrongfully incarcerated, overturning convictions, their recovery, and reform of the system that allows these miscarriages of justice to happen. Jeffrey served 16 years in maximum security prison at the age of 17 years old for the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl, and the DNA never matched his. Jeffrey is now a lawyer.
