Remembering Consuewella Africa. Giant Mumia Puppet in downtown Philadelphia.

On July 3, 2021, there was a demonstration in remembrance of Consuewella Africa. The rally included Jacqueline Wade shepherded the building of a giant Mumia puppet that could be seen from a mile away in downtown Philadelphia! August 14th the Giant Mumia Puppet debuted at the Int’l Puppet Fringe Festival.

GENTLE GIANT MUMIA — a poem to Jacqueline Wade

you let us know
with the gentle giant
Mumia puppet
you created
that we
and only we
are the puppeteers
of his liberation

you tell us
that when we carry
the moveable
masterpiece
of his unshackled presence
we are the sole designers
of his release

As we feel
his live weight
in the wind
we
only we
draw the strings
that will activate
his Freedom
